The Government of Ontario is proposing to expand strong mayor powers to 169 municipalities on May 1, 2025. Initially introduced for the cities of Toronto and Ottawa in 2022, Ontario’s strong mayor powers are currently available to 47 municipalities. How have strong mayor powers reshaped municipal budgeting? How can finance staff prepare? Join us for this webinar for an overview of Ontario strong mayor powers in relation to municipal finances.
