Balancing Budgets Amid COVID-19
Government Transfers and the safe restart agreement
Webinar Overview:
Transfers from senior levels of government has always represented a significant transaction for municipalities. Covid-19 created massive deficits across Canada’s municipalities. Balancing budgets will remain a theme for several years. It is critical that Ontario’s municipalities understand the fiscal impacts of different types of government transfers will have on current results and future budgets. Perhaps more importantly, it is important to understand strategies and tactics available to municipalities to address budget deficits.
This webinar is designed for finance officers, treasurers and managers with budgeting and accounting responsibilities that need to brief up to council.
You Will Learn:
Deep technical understanding of PSAB Government Transfers Standard, PS 3410
How the standard would normally be applied to four different types of government transfers
Strategic and tactical advice on the tools available to balance budgets and mitigate funding risks
